Published: May 9, 2015

kayak on Lake DillonSummit County residents and visitors might have already seen a few boats out on Lake Dillon here early in May. With water temperatures just above freezing and water levels just two feet below full, both Frisco and Dillon marina’s are open for boaters with their own gear.

Both Frisco and Dillon marinas are gearing up for the summer boating season. Dillon pushed to open today (Saturday, May 9th) while the Frisco Marina is set to open Saturday, May 23rd. Thereafter, the docks will be open seven days a week following memorial weekend.

Dillon marina is boasting their newly improved marina area! They finished improvements to the marina parking lot adding streetlights and picnic tables and the land they recently acquired from Denver Water will serve as both a waterfront and dock for paddle-boarders and kayakers. The newly created beach environment will make it more convenient and safer for paddle-boarders and kayakers to access their equipment in the water avoiding the launch point where large boats are coming and going. The new beach area also makes it nicer and easier to access the water for visitors looking to check out the reservoir and wanting a place to relax and enjoy the waterfront.

Both Frisco and Dillon marina purchased new boating equipment for the 2015 summer season. Dillon acquired a few new pontoon boats and sails for their fleet of sailboats while Frisco bough six brand new pontoon boats, two new fishing boats and several paddleboards, canoes and kayaks.

Both marina’s expect to have a busy and fun summer season. For more rental information for both of these marina’s you can follow the below links:
