Breckenridge International Festival of Arts
The Breckenridge International Festival of Arts begins next month and celebrates the concept of adventure, the outdoors and creativity. The festival will run from August 14th through August 23rd and features a variety of performances, exhibitions, screenings, workshops and talks. Stop by the festival and enjoy a diverse selection of music, dance, film, visual arts and entertainment for the entire family!

The 10-day experience is inspired by themes of environment and mountain culture. Dozens of events at the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts are scheduled to take place, both inside and outside. Tickets are necessary for select events, while many are free to the general public.   • Australia’s The Fruits | August 13-16 @ 2:30 PM, 4:00 PM & 5:30 PM
    • Riverwalk Center Lawn | FREE
    • This Melbourne-based, outdoor performing company is perched atop 15 foot high poles. Performers blend elements of theater, dance and circus within the show!
  • The Blue Trees | August 13-September 14
    • Various Locations | FREE
    • Konstantin Dimopoulos uses water-based paints to color the trees blue in order to arise environmental consciousness and social action.
  • Abound by Julie Hughes | August 14-23
    • Old Masonic Hall | FREE
    • San Francisco Bay Area artist creates a forest out of cast paper tree skins to exemplify humans relationship with nature.
  • Michael Ward-Bergeman and Groanbox | August 15 @ 7:30 PM
    • Riverwalk Center | $25-$40
    • Performing on accordion, acoustic guitar, banjo and harmonica, these three men mix deep southern blues with a wide range of music genres.
  • Ethel’s Documerica | August 16 @ 7:30 PM
    • Riverwalk Center | $25-$45
      • This string quartet incorporates a multimedia performance to reflect on our relation to the land and resources.
  • Volo by Diavolo | August 18-19 @ 7:30 PM
    • Riverwalk Center | $25-$45
    • This team of athletes twirl and fly from oversized structures to create a form of contemporary dance and aerobatics.
  • ARTCRANK BRK | August 19-31

    • Celebrate bikes by gazing at the international pop-up show of bicycle-inspired posters!
  • Bike Zoo | August 20-21
    • Festival Square | FREE
    • This blend of puppetry and cycling creates a human-powered performance to celebrate energy-efficient modes of transportation.
  • The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band | August 20 @ 7:30 PM
    • Festival Square | FREE
    • Country blues and growling vocals with get you dancing! Their energy is contagious, with finger picking strings and washboard instruments!
  • Los Lobos | August 21 @ 7:30 PM
    • Riverwalk Center and Lawn | FREE
    • Dedicated to mixing all styles of music, this band can be heard playing Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues and traditional Spanish music.
  • Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass | August 22 @ 7:30 PM
    • Riverwalk Center | $45-$70
    • Heard on more than 500 public radio stations each week by over 1.7 million listeners, Ira Glass explores the art of storytelling.
  • The Triplets of Belleville | August 23 @ 7:30 PM
    • Riverwalk Center | $25-$45, Kids – $10
    • The silent Oscar-nominated film will feature a life performance by Le Terrible Orchestre de Belleville and composer Benoit Charest.
