Other Worlds Breckenridge: Step Into an Immersive Art Adventure

IMMERSIVE ART

Discover a New Creative Experience

Other Worlds Breckenridge invites visitors to experience art in an entirely new way. Now open at the historic Old Masonic Hall, this immersive exhibition transforms two floors into imaginative environments filled with interactive sculptures, colorful installations and playful storytelling. Presented through a partnership between Breck Create and Mountain Top Explorium, the exhibit will welcome guests for the next 10 months, offering another exciting cultural attraction in the heart of Summit County.

While Breckenridge is famous for world-class skiing, hiking and mountain biking, experiences like Other Worlds Breckenridge continue to showcase why the town has become a thriving destination for arts and culture throughout every season.

A Journey Through Two Unique Worlds

Visitors begin downstairs inside an imaginative installation created by Colorado fiber artist Sadie Young. The space surrounds guests with crocheted vines, oversized mushrooms, colorful textiles, and handcrafted details inspired by Colorado’s natural landscapes.

Towering over the room are two large fiber sculptures representing common emotional experiences. One symbolizes anxiety, while the other reflects feelings of inadequacy. Rather than focusing solely on those challenges, the exhibit encourages visitors to discover positive emotions through interactive activities. Guests can leave encouraging messages, uncover hidden affirmations, and explore thoughtful displays that celebrate resilience, confidence and self-care.

Young’s background in psychology helped shape the exhibit’s message that every emotion contributes to personal growth. Her work also celebrates Colorado’s wildflowers, forests and mountain scenery, creating a meaningful connection between nature and emotional wellness.

A Woodland Storybook Comes to Life

Upstairs, illustrator Hadley Hooper transports guests into an enchanting forest filled with the wildlife that calls Summit County home. Bears, foxes, deer, trout, pikas and birds appear throughout the room in colorful three-dimensional displays that resemble the pages of a giant pop-up storybook.

A handcrafted community table stretches through the center of the gallery, celebrating the connections that make Breckenridge such a special mountain town. Children and adults alike can participate by tracing raised animal designs to create keepsakes inspired by their visit.

The exhibit also highlights the importance of protecting local wildlife and respecting the natural habitats that surround Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin. These mountain communities thrive because of the beautiful environment that residents and visitors share together.

Interactive Fun for Every Generation

Unlike a traditional museum, Other Worlds Breckenridge encourages visitors to become part of the artwork. Families can press buttons to reveal hidden affirmations, explore secret spaces, interact with sculptures and discover countless surprises throughout both exhibits.

The collaboration with Mountain Top Explorium adds educational activities designed especially for children, making the experience engaging for guests of every age. Whether visiting during a summer vacation or after a day exploring nearby trails, the exhibit offers a refreshing indoor activity that inspires creativity and conversation.

Add It to Your Summit County Itinerary

Visitors can spend the morning hiking Peak 8, shopping along Main Street, or riding scenic chairlifts before stepping inside this imaginative exhibition for an afternoon of discovery.

Together with Breckenridge’s galleries, festivals, live performances and public art installations, this immersive exhibit demonstrates how creativity continues to flourish throughout the Colorado Rockies.
