The 53rd annual Ullr Fest will take place in Breckenridge between January 13th and 16th! Snow lovers from all over the world visit the town of Breckenridge each year for the celebration in which they give thanks to Ullr, the ‘Norse God of Snow’. Grab your snow dancing shoes and come out to the party this year! There will be special events and activities for family members of all ages!
According to Norse mythology, Ullr is the son of Sif and a stepson of Thor, the God of Thunder. Known for his love of the cold, Ullr was an expert archer, hunter, skater and skier. During weeks of low snowfall, locals may be found praying to the Norse god asking for more plentiful amounts of snowfall.

Wednesday, January 13
Breck Ascent Series | 6:15 AM
Earn your turns in the 7th annual Breckenridge Ascent Series with begins at the base of Peak 8. Interested participants can sign up for the event at http://www.townofbreckenridge.com/index.aspx?page=1344.
Crowning of the Ullr King and Queen | 6:30 PM
The Ullr King and Queen will be chosen based on their contributions to the community. The 53rd crowing will take place at the Riverwalk Center.
Breck’s Got Talent | Doors Open: 6:00 PM, Show Starts: 6:30 PM
The town-wide talent show is put on by local radio station Always Mountain Town. The event will take place at the Riverwalk Center following the crowning and your first Bud Light is on the house!
Thursday, January 14
Fat Bike Eliminator | 2:30 PM
Watch these bikes with oversized tires zoom up and down Main Street once the streets are cleared for the parade!
Ullr Shot Ski | 4:15 PM
Participants 21 years of age and older are invited to take place in the World’s Longest Shot Ski! Presented by the Breckenridge Distillary, last years shots had 777 participants with skis spanning 1,250 feet down Main Street! Registration will begin at the Riverwalk Center at 12:00 PM and costs $5 to benefit the Breckenridge Mountain Rotary.
Ullr Parade | 4:30 PM
The main attraction during Ullr Fest is the Ullr Parade, which takes place downtown Breckenridge on Main Street. Participants in the parade design creative floats and put on a very entertaining parade that follows a snow related theme. Contestants in past years have designed Ullr buses, skied down Main Street or pulled children on sleds behind the float! Enjoy the creativity and snag some candy that is tossed to the crowd from participating floats.

Participants will plunge into the icy waters of the Maggie Pond to win a free hot lunch provided by the Quandary Grill along with a blanket for afternoon warmth!
