The 34th Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships are being held in Vail, Colorado this week! The world’s best in snowboarding are competing for the US Open title in Halfpipe and Slopestyle. Competitions start today, Wednesday, March 3rd and continue through Saturday, March 5th. The competition is being held at “Golden Peak” in Vail.

Golden Peak Park in Vail is the largest Terrain Park at Vail Resorts. This park caters to all ability levels with small, medium and large features. Home to the Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships, it showcases a 22’ superpipe, a mini pipe as well as a pro slope-style course. Golden Peak is accessible from the River Bahn Express (Chair #6) and can be accessed by foot by going through Vail Village.

The Burton US Open first took place in 1982 and is the longest-running snowboarding competition in the world. Returning to Vail, Colorado for its fourth year, the 34th annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships are hosting over 100 of the world’s best riders to battle it out over four days of intense competition for a chance to be crowned the US Open Halfpipe and Slopestyle Champions. Winners of the competitions in both categories are competing for $45,000.

Riders and spectators alike can catch Olympic-level slopestyle and halfpipe snowboarding competitions by day, and enjoy free live concerts from headliner acts and more by night. All Burton US Open Snowboarding Championship events, including competition viewing, Solaris concerts and the USO Closing Party (presented by Leafly) are free and open to the public!  Complimentary tickets will be required to enter the US Open Closing Party at Dobson Arena on Saturday night; tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at Vail’s two Burton stores and the US Open Sponsor Village.
